What We Do
The Sr Mgr, Contractor Relations manages, coordinates and oversees planning and execution priorities for an assigned territory. This role may have direct reports, have responsibility for a broad regional area, and/or manage and implement strategic projects.
Contractor Relations Management (CRM) is responsible for recruiting, training and managing the overall performance of independent contracting companies, usually in a territory with multiple states. Manages the service experience and claims cost of warranty service requests directly related to the contractors. Manage a claims cost budget, conduct face -to-face contractor meetings to discuss scorecard metrics and mutual expectations, and negotiate contractor agreements that drive cost and process. Typically manages a territory team that may include Supervisors, Contractor Specialists and/or Contractor Recruiters.
Essential Functions
- The senior level CRM typically has responsibility for a complex and broad regional area and may manage other CRMs. Consistently provides leadership to the department through training and implementing a variety of strategic projects
- Recommends and creates operating policies and procedures to provide guidance to teams while establishing team oriented, customer service philosophy and supportive working environment
- Provides vision and direction regarding all aspects of regional management as it relates to cost, timeliness, and quality of service
- Develops financial forecasts, balances department programs and resources for territories and teams, including strategies and tactics to ensure execution of territory goals and objectives
- Interacts with Divisional and Regional Sales Managers to prepare for new business
- Interfaces with cross functional departments in support of claim management and service delivery
- Keeps managers informed of news, forecasts and strategies; encourages discussion and proposals for optimizing operations, and issues that impact productivity. Monitors and reports on competitive activity
- Maintains high level relationships with vendor and supplier network, keeping both informed of changes in Company policies and procedures
- Develops contractor specific tools and scorecards to monitor and identify cost saving opportunities
- Responsible for productivity and staffing being aligned with regional goals
- Writes and conducts employee performance reviews and provides ongoing performance feedback through coaching. Approves hiring and compensation decisions.
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
- Strong MS Office skills
- Strong business acumen
- Communication skills sufficient to speak to groups and moderate discussions among various stakeholders with differing positions or interests
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, customers, staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence and persuade
- Experience in partnership management and/business development
- Experience in sales and positioning value propositions
- Advanced knowledge of Company products, competitors' products and product standards
- Skill in the hiring, training, monitoring, coaching, and motivating a team
- Ability to execute plans/projects through others
- Ability to convey complex ideas and persuade others
- Ability to analyze complex plans and ideas, foreseeing future impacts on business and individuals
Typical Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced degree preferred
Typical Range of Experience
- Typically has 7-10 years of directly related experience
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in a management role
- Demonstrated success establishing, leading and maintaining effective working relationships at the Senior Management level
