Sonepar USA is seeking aStrategic Accounts Manager, Industrial Vertical,to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding relationships with industrial customers on a national level. In collaboration with our Operating Companies, you will build a pipeline of accounts with whom you will develop strategies to meet their business needs and grow revenue while acting as a liaison internally to ensure these needs are met.
This is a virtually based opportunity, with the successful candidate conveniently located near a major international airport.
What You Will Do:
Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and acquire qualified national or multi-state industrial customers, focusing on electrical MRO products, value-added services, and solutions.
- Proactively engage to determine customer service/solution and material requirements; influence and develop RFPs to meet these needs; coordinate unified proposals across Operating Companies.
- Communicate our value proposition effectively, negotiate, and attain profitable customer agreements in compliance with company guidelines.
- Onboard and act as the single point of contact for the customer's ongoing success.
Account Management & Sales Excellence
- Establish and maintain strong executive leadership relationships with potential and existing clients, understanding their needs and building trust.
- Regularly communicate with customers, addressing their queries and providing solutions. Handle complaints and issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Track sales performance, forecast future revenue, and provide regular business updates to leadership.
- Continuously develop knowledge and expertise on the company's product/services offerings and their associated business value.
Collaboration & Partnering
- Collaborate effectively and consistently with Operating Companies in support of the customer and engage with them in strategic planning and joint selling engagements.
- Leverage local market intelligence to prioritize customer prospects and qualify leads.
- Conduct analysis to identify potential new business opportunities, emerging trends, and untapped markets.
- Engage global stakeholders to build strategies to serve the customer around the world.
- Build relationships with key vendors and partners to expand market reach, drive revenue, and deliver value for the customer.
- Coordinate specialist and vendor resources for the benefit of the customer.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent 10+ years of experience in the Industrial market.
- 5+ years of demonstrated business development/account management success in the industrial market.
- Deep understanding of the industrial ecosystem, including End User, OEM, EPC, and Systems Integration.
- Experience working for or in-depth understanding of Electrical Distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of leading industrial electrical product lines such as power distribution, wiring & cabling, lighting, MRO consumables, and control systems components.
- Strategic sales professional capable of identifying opportunities, closing new business, and providing best-in-class customer service.
- Proven ability to derive and articulate business value and financial outcomes related to services and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders (internal/external)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for productive collaboration with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools, presentation creation, and utilizing data to drive business discussions/decisions.
- Adaptability to new situations, people, culture, and technology.
- Cultivates deep relationships with broad sets of internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Collaborates effectively and with an open mind.
- Can appropriately challenge the status quo; a change agent.
