Position Summary: Meitheal is a dynamic growing biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering medicines that deliver clinical and economic value to the US healthcare system. As we continue to build out our specialty organization, we are looking for an experienced and successful leader to join our team as an Oncology Area Sales Director. Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Head of Oncology Sales, the Area Sales Director (ASD) will be responsible for developing and leading a region of Meitheal's US sales organization and launching our first oncology biosimilar products. We seek a dynamic, experienced leader with a proven history leading and developing highly performing oncology sales teams. The selected individual will be responsible for the execution of product strategies and tactics at a regional level to deliver outstanding sales results for Meitheal. Pay range for this position is $170,000 - $220,000. Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Requirements
Leadership
- Lead a team of oncology sales representatives to achieve regional sales goals.
- Set the example for sales excellence by demonstrating thorough knowledge of the area oncology market and identifying trends and tactics that can help drive regional success.
- Manage team and market dynamics to drive for bottom line results while accelerating the professional development of the entire team.
- Ensure representatives have clear accountabilities for their territories, understand performance expectations and passionately demonstrate drivers that will achieve sales goals.
- Assist team members by generating innovative ideas to enhance sales performance.
- Manage regional budgets and demonstrate sound fiscal leadership on behalf of Meitheal.
- Demonstrate the technical expertise to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, policies, and business-related issues from customers and representatives.
Sales
- Achieve regional sales performance goals, including market share, dollar sales, reach and frequency or other key performance metrics as assigned.
- Work with ASD colleagues to identify ways to create synergistic sales opportunities that cross regional boundaries.
- Ensure team members demonstrate utmost professionalism in the delivery of disease or product information, and that sales calls are impactful and effective and always adhere to compliance guidelines.
Collaboration and Communication
- Effectively and consistently collaborate with fellow ASD and internal colleagues to drive exceptional business results while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Work closely with Medical Affairs to understand their stakeholder engagements and align on strategy to appropriately increase patient access to products.
- Collaborate with Market Access and the Payer field team to identify any payer or access issues and work together to create a plan for resolution.
- Lead any region-specific pull through efforts for targeted plans and providers.
Execution, Training & Development
- Recruit and hire talented individuals to join Meitheal's Oncology sales team.
- Coach, mentor, educate, and develop team members to enhance individual selling skills and elevate overall team performance.
- Set performance and behavior expectations and hold team members accountable for meeting or exceeding those expectations.
- Lead regional planning meeting designed to identify prioritized product opportunities and issues and ensure plans to address are produced and executed.
- Use the marketplace and product data provided to ensure all product opportunities are maximized and any issues are quickly addressed.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant compliance laws, policies, and processes, ensuring full compliance by self and team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 7 years in biopharma sales leadership, with at least 4 years of experience in oncology sales management leading a team across a multistate geography.
- Specialty, oncology, or biosimilar product launch experience strongly preferred.
- Buy and Bill experience required.
- Account Management, Market Access, or Advocacy experience is desired.
- Advanced business analytical skills to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Travel >50% of the time
