Provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment; formulates individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses; conducts routine forensic evaluations (e.g., commitment, guardianship); and directs the ongoing care of patients.
Qualifications * M.D. degree (or equivalent as confirmed by ECFMG) Principal duties and responsibilities * Provides clinical services including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required * Experience in diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and other somatic therapies, the formulation of treatment plans and the conduct of patient-specific treatment programs. (May be obtained during residency education) Working Conditions Environment is a private psychiatric teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the Mass General Brigham System. May work in a variety of locations or units either on main campus or in satellite locations in Massachusetts. Requires walking, sitting, standing, writing, speaking, and other physical activity typical in a patient care environment.May include exposure to physically restive or aggressive patients. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility Works with nursing and other clinical staff in the delivery of patient care.Number of staff and scope of supervisory responsibility may vary depending on unit/program and shift. Fiscal Responsibility Responsible for accurate and timely record completion relative to documentation of patient care and for billing purposes.
