Expected Length of Internship:
- This internship is expected to last for the summer semester, with a minimum duration of two (2) months. We allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field in progress or completed.
- Student must be at least a Junior
- Required cumulative GPA: 3.5
- Experience in treasury, finance, banking, or a related field is preferred.
- First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university, if applicable.
Required Skills/Competencies:

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with treasury management systems (TMS), Oracle, and PowerBI are a plus.
Basic Internship Scope (Project):
- As a finance intern, you will support the Treasury and FP&A teams in various tasks, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. You will work on a major project that contributes to the department's goals, such as developing a financial model to optimize cash flow management. Upon completion of the internship, you will present your accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
- Cash Management and Optimization:
- Administer and optimize the global banking structure.
- Manage funding and cash management for global bank accounts.
- Resolve cash issues and determine surplus cash for investments.
- Strategic Planning and Analysis:
- Support FP&A in cash forecasting.
- Provide information for audits and other departments.
- Prepare regular cash position reports.
- Support intercompany transactions.
