Responsibilities

The Information Systems Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution's Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations. The position will be located at the Boise Cascade Company headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Agility EDI System including monitoring transactions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring proper functioning of the system.
  • Create and implement strategies to support EDI initiatives and ensure they align with the division's business goals.
  • Lead and coordinate EDI projects including defining scope, deliverables, and timelines, as well as allocating resources.
  • Work with internal teams and external trading partners to address EDI-related issues and ensure a smooth exchange of information to resolve problems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external trading partners to facilitate onboarding and address any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor EDI transactions for accuracy and integrity to ensure adherence to industry standards and division requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for internal staff on EDI processes and best practices as well as providing technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Work closely with division's ERP provider to improve EDI processes and implement enhancements to the system's functionality.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in a related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in EDI standards, EDI software, X12, XML, and related technologies would be advantageous.
  • Develop the ability to analyze the division's EDI transactions, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, build relations, and resolve conflicts is required.
  • EDI Project management including defining scope, creating timelines, and allocating resources.
  • Lead and motivate the EDI Team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support.
  • An understanding of business processes and how EDI impacts various functions within an organization would be beneficial.
  • The position may require up to 15% business travel within the continental United States.
