Hornblower is seeking a Marketing Associate for our Alcatraz Cruises operation in San Francisco.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody Hornblower's RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Marketing Associate position provides administrative support to Alcatraz City Cruises' Sales & Marketing, department, supports initiatives through digital and communications channels, including social media, website, email marketing, and media relations. They will drive social media growth, produce engaging short-form video content, and support key marketing initiatives. The Associate will also support departmental organization, task tracking, and digital communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Create high-quality social media content, including posts, short-form videos, Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Capture, edit, and publish photo and video content that drives engagement and strengthens the brand story.
  • Manage a comprehensive social media calendar across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok using Sprout Social.
  • Track content performance and provide monthly social media reports with platform analytics, growth updates, and actionable insights.
  • Actively develop strategies to grow and engage our social media audiences across all platforms.
  • Monitor online reviews, comments, and social messages to maintain a strong digital presence and positive community engagement.
  • Research and apply social media trends to keep content fresh, engaging, and aligned with audience interests.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials, campaign promotions, partnerships, and community collaborations.
  • Maintain and organize in-house photo and video asset libraries for marketing and PR use.
  • Monitor and manage the Marketing departmental calendar and task lists to keep projects on track and on schedule.
  • Support internal communications such as blogs, newsletters, crew announcements, and special project coordination.
  • Handle administrative support tasks such as invoice processing, vendor tracking, and basic office management for the Marketing Department.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • Proven experience in social media content creation, including short-form video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
  • Proficiency in video shooting, editing, and basic photography.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms, platform best practices, and audience growth strategies.
  • Experience with Sprout Social or other social media management and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (Illustrator and Premiere Pro skills are a plus).
  • Comfortable analyzing data and producing monthly performance reports.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with a strong sense of brand voice.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in marketing, tourism, attractions, or hospitality industries preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
