As a Maintenance Mechanic you are responsible for maintaining and optimizing our heavy industrial equipment. The position requires the ability to be flexible, self-directed and have an understanding of production requirements in a service orientated company. The main focus of the position is to keep complex machinery running smoothly in a high-throughput production environment. Assistance with Capital Project/new equipment planning, dealing with vendors for parts and services are also a requirement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Always works in a safe and efficient manner
  • Troubleshoot, repairs and maintains cut-to-length lines, shears, saws, presses, and automated processing equipment in an efficient manner on a daily basis
  • Executes and enhances preventive and predictive maintenance program and keeps files up-to-date
  • Perform diagnostics on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems including PLC-based controls
  • Coordinates outside maintenance services as required and may lead or assist in capital equipment installations, rebuilds, and major overhauls
  • Orders parts as required to keep equipment operating in a safe/efficient basis
  • Follows all Company ISO policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with operations to quickly resolve equipment issues and support production schedules
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong safety mindset and commitment to equipment excellence
  • 1-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, ideally with metal processing or heavy equipment
  • Strong understanding of electromechnaical systems with experience in troubleshooting PLCs, drives and control panels
  • Machine repair, crane repair, preventive maintenance programs
  • Hands on skills in welding, fabrication, hydraulic repair and reading blueprints/schematics
  • Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility


Salary: $30.00 hourly. A starting salary higher than $30.00 hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
