The Senior Provider Data Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and improving FACETS database. Task will include but are not limited to the following: Demographic and contractual database maintenance, data reporting, and extraction for various analyses, as well as initiating and coordinating database improvement efforts. You will also be responsible for developing and upholding standards for database integrity and quality assurance, conducting audits, and providing feedback to reduce errors and enhance processes and performance.

Schedule: This will be a full-time role with 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday, in time zone of residence. Training hours may vary. Schedule to be determined upon hire.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and update the provider network database to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Conduct data extraction and reporting for various analyses
  • Develop and maintain standards for database integrity and quality assurance
  • Coordinate corrective activities to clean the database and retain users
  • Manage communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements
  • Perform audits and provide feedback to improve processes and reduce errors
  • Represent the provider network area on company IT projects when needed
  • Provide input and suggestions into database or system design based on process, information, or regulation changes, or client requirements
  • Utilize database systems and tools (e.g., Excel, FACETS, Enterprise Now) to enter and/or research provider data
  • Receive data from multiple inbound sources (e.g., spreadsheets, email, claims) and interpret accompanying instructions
  • Review system results to ensure data accuracy and contact internal data submitters for verification or clarification as needed
  • Format data for automated system loading and organize data to answer specific business questions
  • Research multiple databases to pull the correct or needed information
  • Develop and/or contribute to rules and procedures to meet business or regulatory requirements
  • Receive, review, and analyze data using appropriate systems and tools, and determine/implement appropriate actions
  • Analyze data to identify anomalies and discrepancies, determine root causes, and engage appropriate areas for correction
  • Lead or participate in projects related to the analysis and reporting of provider data
  • Maintain current knowledge of business strategies, rules, and procedures through training and self-study
  • Apply business strategies, rules, and procedures appropriately to data management decisions
  • Analyze submitted data to ensure proper business processes are followed and determine appropriate actions or decisions
  • Lead or participate in projects related to business rules and procedures

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of data entry experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in an environment with high-volume workload & competing priorities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or a related field
  • 1+ years of facets experience
  • 1+ years of healthcare experience
  • 1+ years of reporting and analytics experience

The salary range for this role is $19.86 to $38.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
