The Role

Our Manufacturing & Logistics Consulting group is looking for a Consulting Manager to join our journey.

This position will provide advisory services to manufacturing clients. Cognizant Consulting (CC) provides strategic and operational consulting services, creates IP, and drives business solutions for clients. Cognizant has CC units across various industry segments, including Banking Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Retail/Consumer Goods & Manufacturing, Logistics, Energy & Utilities (MLEU), Communications, Information, Media & Entertainment.

We're looking for Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Consulting Manager, this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues to clarify requirements and support delivery of effective solutions; applying technical and domain expertise to solve core client business challenges or inefficiencies; developing and strengthening domain knowledge and maintaining an accurate understanding of Cognizant's industry propositions and consulting capabilities; supporting business development activities of senior leaders; contributing to the development of practice initiatives or new service offerings (e.g., Strategic Control Points, development of consulting assets); and being an inspiring colleague, promoting team motivation, partnership, and ownership for projects. Responsibilities

* Contributing to strategic advisory engagements, providing clients with actionable insights and tailored solutions to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

* Collaborating with client stakeholders to define business requirements, create detailed user stories, and prioritize product backlog.

* Conducting research and data analysis pertaining to current processes and providing recommendations based on data-driven insights to optimize performance and growth.

* Working closely with cross-functional teams for successful project execution.

* Interacting and working with senior customer leaders to build the practice and win consulting engagements.

* Generating proactive proposals to address client issues, presenting to clients, and collaborating with teams on proposal and presentation creation and positioning.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience, with a focus on the manufacturing domain and specialization in data analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing principles. Proficiency in conducting cost-benefit analyses.
  • Experience with project management and leading teams. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing technologies. Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements. Experience with software such as ERP and MES systems.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior consultants and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to go to the Chicago office.
