As a SHE coordinator, the focus will be on delivering support to operations on a day-to-day basis covering all aspects of Safety, Health, and Environment, spending most of their time on the operations floor. The SHE coordinator will be the liaison between operators and supervisors to ensure rules and regulations are followed specifically to the requirements of Federal, State, and Local agencies and those of company standards.

Main Responsibilities:



  • Perform regular safety walks of the operations floor.
  • Develop and deploy risk assessments.
  • Manage employee PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) programs.
  • Assist in preparation and reporting of SHE Key Performance Indicators.
  • Help implement new SHE programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor processes for adherence to SHE guidelines and the elimination of incidents.
  • Learn and maintain an awareness of regulatory standards and good industry practices.
  • Organizes a plan and conducts training necessary for proper onboarding of an employee to account for HR, LMS, Administrative and SHE induction.
  • Develop new training content that supports ongoing SHE initiatives, including VTPS, 6S, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement/monitor/audit SPA (Safe Plan of Action).
  • Review PTP (Pre-Task Plan) for safe practices and awareness of hazards.
  • Develop/implement/report safety metrics associated with the site.
  • Develop/foster collaborative team environment focused on improving safe behaviors.
  • Act as the first point of contact for safety related observations/concerns.
  • Collaborates with management and employees to identify company training needs.
  • Supports Management with regular performance measurement reviews and reporting.
  • Manages and monitors LMS administrative functions (Ex. Adding/removing and updating training).
  • Acts as point person for all seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, and lectures.
  • Implements effective training curriculums that align to career paths through the direction of SHE and HR.
  • Prepares hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos, and presentations.
  • Collaborates and supports training needs for external sources, acting as coordinator of such events.
  • Collaborates with L & D colleagues across the Edwards/Atlas Copco network to help identify opportunities for improvement within the training system.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the SHE Manager

Education level



  • High school diploma (required); Associate's Degree in Business, Safety or related study preferred.


Relevant Previous experience



  • 1-2 years experience in a safety role with Industrial equipment manufacturing organization.


Knowledge areas/Skills



  • Possess proven track record of improved safety performance.

  • Enthusiastic and positive promoter of Edwards Vacuum as a company, its employees and its objectives including all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security related programs.
  • Fosters a professional working relationship through all levels of the North American business divisions.
  • Experienced with communicating and implementing training plans with remote workers.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate training.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools to allow students to prove proficient in the skills they have learned.
  • Completion of a Trainer Certification program a plus but not required.
