Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an Assistant Equipment Solutions Manager that will provide oversight to our equipment programs on large-scale project sites. They will work closely with the Equipment Solutions Manager to provide support and leadership within the Equipment Solutions Group. This is a project-based position that requires travel between project sites. The initial project is in Rayville LA. This position has a 25% travel expectation to support other On-site operations. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify current and future equipment needs by establishing a rapport with site management, project personnel, craft, and trade partners to understand upcoming equipment requirements
- Learn and understand equipment rate schedules
- Direct operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Manage onsite rental program
- Resolve problems by conferring with management and quality control personnel.
- Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and follow up on work results
- Effectively review reports and understand how to dissect the information, utilize it to your advantage and teach others
- Sourcing and securing of third-party cranes
- Crane planning and scheduling with internal project teams, estimating, scheduling and group leadership
- Lease agreement execution
- Rental software contract management
- Crane logistic planning
- Vendor relations
- Understanding of construction project contract types, opportunities, constraints and requirements
- Establish equipment maintenance/trade flow program for all owned assets
- Lead department initiatives to include development, training and support
- Support innovation by encouraging new equipment development
- Manage provided services (Freight, Hoisting, and Hydrovac) to support site operations.
- Promote a safe work environment
- Responsible for team member development and performance, which may include craft and non-craft positions; includes potential management of remote team members
- Provide job assignments and organization to the team, including approval of timecards
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, or minimum 4 years' experience in construction or equipment rental industry
- Knowledge of construction equipment and materials
- Microsoft Office Suite Advanced or above required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proven positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Experience leading teams and developing team members
- Open to change based on diverse input and feedback
- Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Understanding of business financials with experience overseeing profit and loss
- Effective communication both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize based on workload
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Team leadership experience
- Valid US Driver's License with clean driving record

The base pay range for this role is $96,400 - $130,000 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. #LI-JF1 #LI-Onsite Please make note:
