Job Title: PMO Director
Location: Columbus, Ohio Employment Type: Contract to Hire Workplace Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week) Hourly Compensation: Up to $100 per hour Compensation Range Upon Conversion: $160,000 - $180,000 + bonus Job Description: The Director of the Program Management Office provides program and project management governance for the delivery of technology and business initiatives while actively ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals. Detailed Description: The individual in this role will be a thought leader and expert in the utilization of project management methodologies and in the creation of full-scale project plans for the execution of program and project goals and strategies. They will provide leadership to Program & Project Managers and Business Systems Analysts. To be successful, the candidate must be driven and well-organized. It is essential for the individual to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and drive the project team to complete tasks on agreed schedules. Management will look to this individual to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the portfolio, providing thought leadership and mentorship to junior members of their project management team and across the organization. This individual is expected to help lead relationships with the business, cross-impacted IT teams, and 3rd Party Vendors and must possess the ability to push back when required. They will work to provide input into monthly management report deliverables, providing status on the segment's overall portfolio health. Primary Responsibilities: * Lead the program/project team to drive overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned project efforts. * Work effectively with core program and project leadership roles to ensure success. * Facilitate and participate in the analysis and review of overarching program and project deliverables. * Create and maintain the full spectrum of program/project documentation. * Ensure delivery of complex large infrastructure or application development programs and projects. * Coordinate program and project delivery and status with other departments/affiliates and 3rd Party Vendors. * Manage programs/projects within approved budget and schedule. * Provide accurate program and project status reports on time. * Manage program/project change, risk, and issue management. * Document and escalate all risks and issues appropriately. * Maintain program/project plans and schedules. * Update/maintain program/project information in the project management tool (PPM). * Schedule and facilitate program and project meetings. * Work with team members to meet established target dates and complete activities/deliverables under changing conditions. * Communicate effectively with program and executive leadership team members. * Ensure all program and project documentation is created, reviewed, and approved. * Collaborate on project scope and commit estimates. * Facilitate and participate in release activities for the program/projects. * Ensure activities are completed in support of the program/project's warranty period. * Follow project lifecycle methodology. * Work with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment and problem-solving. * Provide mentorship to team members as needed. * Manage Program & Project Managers and Business Systems Analysts. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree. * Minimum 10 years of experience as a technical Project and/or Program Manager, leading large complex initiatives across various technical platforms. * Minimum 5 years of experience leading initiatives in a technology environment with exposure to infrastructure strategy, cloud, repeatable/tech debt management, and/or enterprise application deployment. * Minimum 3 years of Agile management. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in banking or financial services. * Strong experience utilizing a variety of portfolio project management tools (experience with ServiceNow PPM is a plus). * Strong experience creating and tracking project schedules in MS Excel or MS Project. * Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards. * Strong aptitude in both business and technology. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain project risks and issues, and IT-related concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership. * Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively. * Ability to provide strong program and project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change. * Willingness and drive to learn and understand detailed software solutions. * High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners. * Ability to initiate and facilitate change, whether indicated by corporate needs, market, or regulatory requirements. * Experience leading large, cross-functional information technology programs and projects. * Merger & Acquisition experience is a plus. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
