JOB SUMMARY: The Genesys Development Engineer supports the Genesys Product Owners in the development of the Genesys software platform that is used by sales force to configure product selections, rate product performance, and price the product in an efficient and convenient manner. The Genesys development engineer does this by implementing and maintaining product data and definition under the direction of the Genesys product owner into the Genesys software. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Using data tables and logic structure implements product data and definition.
- Continuously maintains the existing product data under the guidance of the Genesys Product Owner
- Supports the implementation of new product lines into the software with direction the product development group.
- Supports Operations in the development and maintenance of product costing tables used for product quoting and production planning
- Supports Solid Contact mapping for product drawings and BOM automation
- Supports ePlan and eContact mapping into Genesys
- Supports the implementation and maintenance of P&ID function programming in Genesys
- Helps new function testing
- Works with the software programmers to integrate new vendor provided DLL/web service integrations and in-house web service developments.
- Supports beta testing of new product lines and new functionality of existing product lines.
- Helps analyzes and resolves errors logged from failed selections
- Attends weekly Genesys meetings with other business areas and the software programmers to set priorities and maintain standard practices for the software
- Assist in technical support for Genesys users
- Analyze and report user statics data for Genesys coordinators
- Update Wiki user instructions
COMPETENCIES:
- Experience in engineering tool development involving technical calculations
- Knowledge of web and stand-alone applications, particularly in Visual Basic 6.0, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Classic ASP and .NET Development
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data driven applications using MS Access or MS SQL Server
- Strong project management skills
- Effective communicator with strong English written and verbal skills
- Creative problem solving skills and ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S in Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Previous Genesys training or other web based selection software experience
- Travel will be required - up to 10%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
