Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for a Polisher to join our team in Mt. Orab, OH. As a Polisher you will be responsible to set-up and operate a variety of polishing machines and hand tools to produce a finish, often of a complex nature. Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, ensure product meets customer and company specifications.

Work You'll Do:

  • Verify correct product using job traveler to set-up and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications, reading part drawing with sectional views.
  • Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, hold specified limits on I.D. using deburring tools with special cutters on a variety of production parts.
  • Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists to maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, recommend improvements for area product and processes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Team:

This role will be a part of the Machine Screw group manufacturing/production team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of related experience or training: or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills, and team player
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to perform and interpret computer functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Currently enrolled in technical program such as machining, welding, industrial equipment, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with precision tools and blueprints preferred.
