*The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the Role
The Senior ITC Analyst (SITCA) will support all operational and strategic aspects of Novolex's Office of International Trade Compliance (ITC). Reporting to the ITC Manager, the SITCA is responsible for assisting in the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of the ITC program and for providing informed guidance as a subject matter expert in the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficient and compliant day-to-day import and export transactions. They will help ensure compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and international regulations and compliance activities, as well as those of partner government agencies (PGAs). Regional specialization is also required. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and respond to compliance issues, inquiries, and realtime border crossings that are received in the ITC's departmental inbox from any of Novolex & Pactiv Evergreen's companies
- Determine and provide information needed for proper import or export clearance, including ISF, HS classification, commercial invoice, certificates of origin, and customs forms. Coordinate activities with customs broker as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert. Apply ITC-related information, policies, and guidelines. Utilize knowledge to continuously identify potential areas of risk, development, or improvement. Escalate to team management as appropriate
- Perform customs risk and compliance assessments
- Build and strengthen connections with internal team members and service providers
- Assist in establishing and maintaining relevant processes and procedures, enabling consistent handling of issues as well as broad company awareness to these requirements.
- Provide training to colleagues as opportunities arise
- Perform regulatory research and incorporate learnings into ITC desk procedures (AKA work instructions) as appropriate
- Assist with other compliance activities and special projects as assigned
What We Need From You
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures & trade practices, and ability to interpret regulations
- In addition to U.S. compliance, regional expertise is required for the European Union, Canada, Mexico, and/or UK. Must have the ability to perform customs risk and compliance assessments of company activities in at least one of these regions.
- 5+ years' experience with International Trade Compliance in a corporate setting, and/or other import/export competencies (e.g., with a customs broker)
- Expertise with HS classification. Strong knowledge with import/export regulations, free trade agreements (FTAs), country of origin (COO), valuation, AD/CVD, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities

- Ability to simplify current processes and practices within established compliance parameters. Develop practical trade compliance solutions and integrate into daily activities.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and diplomatic communication
- Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to leadership, internal and external partners, both verbally and in writing. Strong technical writing skills
- Comfortable preparing and delivering compliance training
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Well organized
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and/or ERPs
- Comfortable with Microsoft business software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong time management & prioritization skills
- Strong project management capabilities
- Ability to work independently, with good judgement to know when to escalate
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred, e.g., International Business, International Transportation and Logistics, International Trade, Business Analytics, Engineering, Library Sciences. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
