General Summary
The Senior HR Generalist will serve as an HR lead on a range of different projects and responsibilities. The Senior HR Generalist will lead and facilitate the human capital activities to include compensation; employee relations; performance management; communications, and training. This position will plan and administer the employee benefit programs to include benefits design, evaluation of effectiveness, and liaison with service providers. Primary functions include benefits, employee relations, compliance, employee development, performance management, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for organizational compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
- Coaches and supports business leaders in all HR-related areas.
- Incumbent will work in close coordination with the HR team to implement OD initiatives across the enterprise.
- Incumbent will partner with division leaders to implement HR initiatives that support business outcomes.
- Works with management to focus on employee engagement and retention.
- Identifies employee development needs and implements appropriate approaches.
- Manages employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance and managing risks.
- Effectively investigates issues and recommends appropriate course of action.
- Plan, administer, and monitor the design of employee benefit programs (health and welfare insurance, wellness etc.)
- Inform and guide employees on benefits matters regarding eligibility and coverage.
- Liaise with vendors to negotiate and coordinate contracts for new and existing plans.
- Evaluate and negotiate with service providers, as required.
Position Specific
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications :
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR or relevant discipline with 10 years of experience in human resources as an HR Generalist or Benefits Analyst
- Associate degree with 12 years of experience in human resources as an HR Generalist or Benefits Analyst
- Solid understanding of benefits plans (retirement, health, dental, etc.) and relevant regulations
- Experience with applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA and state and local laws
- Experience with HRIS/online benefit enrollment systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to implement change initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint) and HRIS.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM Certification strongly preferred.
- Business acumen, knowledge, professionalism; understand all aspects of how a business operates; able to develop and articulate the value proposition of a new process or program.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills; able to work effectively across all levels within the organization.
- Strong consultative and diagnostics skills; excellent strategic planning and operations deployment skills
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment; flexible and adaptable, an individual who embraces change and challenges and has a passion for improvement.
- Data driven and savvy with metrics and analytics.
