Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a Water Resources Engineer in our Bloomfield, NJ office for a wide range of projects requiring hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management and green infrastructure design, roadway drainage evaluation and design, waterway and bridge hydrologic/hydraulic/scours analyses, and environmental permitting. Candidates will be working primarily with state and public agencies along with several private clients, to provide a variety of water resources engineering services.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with internal engineers, technicians or administrative staff to assign and perform work.
  • Communicates with client and outside agencies as needed.
  • Performs technical analyses, design and evaluations.
  • Plans and coordinates aspects of work.
  • Prepares scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience
  • PE in NJ strongly preferred
  • Knowledge/experience with HydroCAD, PondPack, SewerGEMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SRH-2D
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, bridge scour analysis, stormwater management, roadway drainage design for transportation-related projects is strongly desirable.
  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling desired
  • Experience with NJDEP Flood Hazard Area Rule and Stormwater Management Rule desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic MS Office software
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $100,013 to $128,588 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
