What you will do-

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for all activities in the associated manufacturing area focusing on operator safety, product quality, EHS compliance, equipment performance, consumable inventory management, and team management.

How will you do it-



  • Be a consistent, visible leader in the area of personal safety including involvement in assigned safety trainings, initiatives and coaching members as needed to enforce a safety-first culture.
  • Ensure company safety policies, procedures and expectations are understood and followed by all persons working on site, escalate concerns/suggestions as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities with plant leadership and engineering to prevent injuries, employee exposures, and chemical spills.
  • Participates and/or leads in root cause investigations (RCI's) occurring within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor production cadence with advisement from the Control Room and ensure escalation when goal attainments are not achieved.
  • Organize available resources to work through plant issues with staff for goal attainment.
  • Observe chemical or physical plant processes and recommend modification or change with focus on improving plant throughput.
  • Communicate with the Control Room, Engineers, Maintenance, Training and other resources as needed to keep resources informed and engaged.
  • Ensure individual and company goals, objectives and expectations are communicated to all employees.
  • Assist with coaching and mentoring Shift Leads to ensure focus of priorities, professional development, and make recommendations as necessary regarding corrective or proactive matters to the Operations Manager and/or Human Resources for further review and/or action.
  • Collaborate with the Training and Safety teams to ensure employees are trained and signed off in understanding work.
  • Operate as the central point of communication for ongoing operations.
  • Interact with the Maintenance Department and Reliability Engineer to develop and strengthen PM work and processes.
  • Track and communicates performance of trial and quarantine material throughout process.
  • Observe and confer with equipment operators to ensure specified techniques are used.
  • Assists in daily monitoring of plant performance through the use of the DCS.
  • Monitor and utilize data collection systems to identify plant performance metrics and create actions to continuously improve.
  • Propose and manage engineering solutions to lost productivity based on knowledge of operating systems.
  • Work closely with applicable departments to determine root causes of quality excursions.
  • Enter Maintenance work requests and communicate urgency appropriately.
  • Order and manage consumable inventory to ensure continuous availability of materials.
  • Manages planned plant outages for their respective teams by supporting projects, adhering to proposed schedules, supplying resources, ensuring the safe and timely execution of ramp down/up activities.
  • Report Production performance through daily DGA3 meetings.
  • Execute Aspen's performance management system, by setting performance goals and objectives as well as performing employee performance reviews.

Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Minimum (7) years' experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
