Packaging Supervisor (Nights)

Spectra Tech, Inc. is looking for a Packaging Supervisor (Nights) in a food manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN.

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department to ensure it functions efficiently and upholds the highest standards of safety, sanitation, quality, and productivity.

• Assign and adjust personnel on production lines based on daily needs
• Maintain communication with Scheduling Supervisor, Packaging Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and production staff
• Coordinate packaging supply needs with warehouse and scheduling personnel
• Assign labor cost centers in time/attendance system
• Maintain daily shift logs for labor and machine utilization
• Address labor issues in collaboration with Union Steward and Packaging Manager
• Direct and train personnel on line duties, operating procedures, and troubleshooting
• Conduct safety training and enforce general safety practices
• Adhere to and document Sanitation GMP and HACCP procedures
• Oversee product transfers to maintain supply for packaging
• Coordinate machine readiness and report equipment issues
• Compile and submit production and downtime data
• Monitor product quality and communicate with QC and operators
• Communicate company policies and administer disciplinary actions
• Fill in for absent supervisors as directed
• Maintain clean work environment and lead 5S practices
• Conduct regular safety meetings

• Education:
  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree preferred
• Certifications/Training:
  • HACCP, GFSI Certification, or knowledge of Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing; food manufacturing preferred
  • Exposure to quality procedures and team-based environments
  • Experience with retail food packaging and high-speed automation preferred
