The Legal Aid Society's Civil Practice has an opening for a Director of the Housing Related Benefits, in our Housing Practice. This will be a Citywide position based out of our Brooklyn office. The Citywide Director of Housing Related Benefits will report to the Attorney-in-Charge of the Housing Practice. The Director of the Housing Related Benefits will work collaboratively with the Housing Leadership Group to build out the Citywide Housing Related Benefits work, the Attorney-in-Charge of their neighborhood office, the Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Law Reform Unit, the Citywide Director of the Housing Justice - Group Advocacy and the Grants and Contracts team. The Director of the Housing Related Benefits is responsible for the running of the benefits related housing work Citywide, specifically the build out and the growth of a team dedicated to late-stage case intervention through litigation and benefits advocacy for New York City tenants in eviction defense proceedings. The Director of the Housing Related Benefits is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the housing benefits teams, mentors new and experienced supervising attorneys and benefits advocates, coordinates grant projects and participates with other staff in prioritizing legal issues. The Director of the Housing Related Benefits participates in Practice-wide management discussions and decision-making. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Program Management

SALARY AND BENEFITS The salary range represents a good faith estimate of the range we expect to pay for this role. The actual salary offered may vary depending on many factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.
