What You Can Expect Working in the Fabrication Supervisor

The Fabrication supervisor works under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, and plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a team engaged in the fabrication shop for construction and welding of blast-resistant modular buildings, offshore modules, and technical buildings. As the Fabrication supervisor, you are integral in supporting Armoda's goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. In this role, you will aid in the compliance of safety and quality standards. As a fabrication supervisor your responsibilities are important in meeting the company's quality policy of providing quality products to our customers, delivered on time.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews fabrication schedules and estimations of hour requirements for completion of job assignment with the Fabrication & Production Manager and delegates work assignments based on team members skills and experience.
  • Assists with training and development of shop fitters and welders as well as performance appraisals.
  • Supports team in construction methods, operation of equipment and tools, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Perform quality control checks and ensure welding and fabricating meets project requirements.
  • Participates in pre-construction meetings and reviews construction drawings and Project Manager's to assist with material takeoff and schedule planning.
  • Monitors manhours assigned per project to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Fabrication supervisor will be the backup for the production supervisor in his/hers absent.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction-related experience
  • Strong knowledge of welding and steel fabrication or construction
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a forklift.
  • Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Maintained 5+ years of supervisory positions.
Supervisor Responsibilities

This job does have supervisory responsibilities including the oversight of work of up to 20 team members. As a people manager, you will coach and develop employees in alignment with company policies and values, referring more serious concerns to the Fabrication and Production Manager. You will be the direct contact for team questions and concerns and will support your team to maximize operational success.

  • Must be able to work overtime at short notice and work weekends on as needed basis.
