Monday - Friday 8am-4pm Onsite

What you will do
  • Assign work and set priorities.
  • Be accountable for productivity and effectiveness.
  • Be the first source for resolving technical issues. Be the "go to" person for problems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with management and Software Development to improve processes and enhance software capabilities.
  • Assist management with defining work standards and measures.
  • Perform human resource tasks such as recruiting, performance management, training and development, recognition, and correction action.
  • Act as a technical liaison between multiple departments.
  • Assess resource (equipment and people) needs and assist management with resource allocation.
  • Balance the objective of satisfying customer requirements with the potential of downstream risks to deliver acceptable parts on schedule.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements; help implement approved process improvements.
  • Design molds, analyze parts, toolpath parts, and approve quotes.
  • Ensure team complies with all quality and safety standards within the department.
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
What it takes
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating CAD software or at least 1 year experience operating company specific software (PMD, PMQ, FCD)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Proto Labs analysis, design, and toolpathing processes, or the ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to gain and retain the respect of direct reports and other employees
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to represent the technical operations department with respect and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
Bonus to have
  • Associate's degree in CAD, Drafting, or Design; Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or Business Administration preferred
  • Previous experience supervising employees
  • PELD completion or Leadership Certification

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
