75% Onsite (Des Plaines, IL)) | 25% Remote | Up to 35% Travel Join a high-impact engineering team supporting critical FAA infrastructure upgrades across the region. We're seeking a mid-level Electrical Project Engineer to develop and manage technical project packages for power systems, unstaffed facilities, and air navigation infrastructure. You'll play a key role from site survey through design and project execution. What You'll Do:
Design, plan, and document electrical systems for FAA facilities Conduct site surveys and apply relevant codes and standards (FAA, federal, local) Develop project drawings, specs, scopes of work, and engineering estimates Perform Arc Flash Analysis and use SKM for system modeling Support construction oversight, acceptance inspections, and feasibility studies Coordinate closely with FAA stakeholders and technical teams
What You Bring:
BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred) with 5+ years in project/resident engineering Experience designing power systems, sizing equipment, and breaker panel layout Proficiency in AutoCAD, Arc Flash Analysis, and SKM Software Knowledge of UIS facilities and FAA engineering standards (NASET/NASEB) a plus
