Title: Logistics Clerk

SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION

This position reports to the Logistics Supervisor. No direct reports.

Job dimensions

Receives customer orders. Plans and processes deliveries. Resolves customer delivery issues.

Key Activities and responsibilities

Logistics Clerk Duties (75%):

  • Receive and process orders through customer service department.
  • Generate daily shipment paperwork from SAP for tank truck finished product.
  • Verify conformance of all tank truck finished product shipments to finished product specifications and release product for shipment.
  • Schedule loading of tank wagons and prepare load sheets.
  • Produce all shipping documentation for tank truck finished product including tank wagon loading schedule, COA's, SAP documents, Bill of Lading, Customs Paperwork, etc.
  • Coordinate bulk delivery schedule with carriers.
  • Daily transactions in SAP, Z01's, PGI and process returns.
  • Work with KOP Customer Service and/or plant personnel to investigate and resolve customer delivery issues.
  • Maintain shipping records files including adding shipping records to API product batch records.
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Logistics Coordinator Duties (25%)

  • Participate in rotating weekend duty for Logistics issues every other weekend.
  • Backup to Logistics Coordinator.
  • Assist with packaged finished product (drums/totes/samples), when necessary.
  • Read company communications weekly, i.e. production advisories, emails, etc.
  • Complete scheduled periodic training on time and as required.

Context and environment

  • This position works in an office/warehouse environment.
  • Classes will be attended as needed for current shipping regulation training.
  • Demonstrates commitment to HES through high visibility and actions.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Based Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of experience required.
  • Chemical plant experience preferred.
  • Logistics experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, SAP, Sample Manager and Excel).
  • This position will require 49CFR certification and IMDG certification.

  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of detail and accuracy required.
