As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of COE teams including Brand Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Transformation, Content, Design, Media, and Marketing Tech and Effectiveness, as well as marketing teams for each of our revenue businesses. About the Role

We are seeking a vice president, Senior Design Manager, Design Systems, to lead and continue to scale our enterprise-wide core design system within the Global Marketing Team in the Executive Office. This individual will be responsible for driving the governance and adoption of a robust, scalable, and accessible design system that empowers teams to create cohesive and high-quality digital experiences for Goldman Sachs clients and prospective clients.

As a leader within the marketing and design organization, you will manage and mentor a team of design system designers while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment and efficiency across all platforms. This role also requires a hands-on approach being able to assess Figma component designs as well as implementation approach while collaborating with the engineering team.

Responsibilities



  • Execute the roadmap and governance model for the central design system to support multiple product teams and platforms.
  • Oversee design decisions to balance consistency and usability with flexibility, ensuring the system scales effectively while meeting a broad range of product needs.
  • Advocate for design system adoption across the organization, securing stakeholder alignment and executive buy-in.
  • Work alongside the product managers and engineering leads to establish joint success metrics and track the impact of the design system on product teams, user experience, and development efficiency.
  • Lead a team of design system designers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Host office hours, governance reviews and facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and onboarding to increase adoption and contributions across teams.
  • Oversee the design creation, evolution and execution of UI components, patterns, design tokens, and documentation from Figma through to code.
  • Ensure the design system meets accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), performance, and usability standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, integrating best practices and emerging technologies into the system.


Qualifications



  • 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design or product design, with a focus on design systems.
  • 3+ years of design leadership or management experience.
  • Expertise in Figma and knowledgeable in development technologies (React, design tokens, Swift UI).
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for inclusive design.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of scaling design systems within enterprise or multi-product organizations.


Knowledge of principles and best practices in motion design and branding and how those are present and exposed within a design system.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
