Overview

The Endovascular RN delivers specialized care and treatment to patients undergoing interventional/vascular procedures. The staff is on-call for off shifts/weekends as scheduled. Staff must be able to respond to the hospital's call

Responsibilities
  • Able to take call based on "on-call" policy.
  • Strong EKG rhythm interpretation skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership in Emergency or Code Blue roles.
  • Maintain ability to perform in an assertive yet supportive manner when functioning with physicians in the procedural setting.
  • Maintain knowledge of patient equipment and therapeutic modalities utilized in the Endovascular Lab.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications and conscious sedation used in the Endovascular Lab.
  • Complies with department policies regarding appropriate sterile technique and radiation safety.
  • Participate in education, community activities and performance improvement projects.
  • Oversees maintenance and provides troubleshooting of equipment.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited nursing program
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within 3 months from hire date.
  • Must possess and maintain current ACLS or Core certification or obtain within 3 months from hire date.
  • Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
  • Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.
  • Customer/patient focused.
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
