Production Manager- PCBA Manufacturing

We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Production Manager to oversee and optimize our PCBA manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, team leadership, and continuous improvement. This role is critical in ensuring that production goals are met with high levels of safety, quality, on-time delivery and efficiency in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions


  1. Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the PCBA production floor, including SMT, through-hole, and final assembly processes.
  2. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production area managers, leads, and operators. Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  3. Deliver on Key Outcomes: our key production outcomes are SQDC - and the production manager aligns and focuses the team on improvement across all of these areas. The Production Manager will "own" KPIs across SQDC and take actions to ensure that we are achieving our goals.
  4. Training and Development: Develops and executes plans to attract talented front-line associates, and successfully on-board and train those employees. Provides opportunities for continued skill building, cross-training and advancement into Leads and Area Manager roles.
  5. Planning & Execution: Coordinate with planning and procurement teams to ensure production schedules align with customer delivery requirements. Manage overall capacity so that it meets or exceeds demand by adjusting staffing, hours worked and other factors so that we can accommodate growth at high levels of service.
  6. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with IPC standards, ISO certifications, and customer-specific requirements.
  7. Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  8. Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure all production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for upgrades and repairs.
  9. Customer Interaction: Support customer audits, visits, and technical discussions as needed.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees various positions, including Production, including Area Managers, Leads and operators and is responsible for the performance management of these employees.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, and lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience


  • 5+ years of experience in electronics or PCBA manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT, reflow, through hole hand, wave soldering, AOI/X-ray inspection, and box build processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production analytics tools.


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Experience in a contract manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • IPC-A-610 certification is a plus.
