Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): San Francisco, California, Phoenix, Arizona, Raleigh, North Carolina and New York City.

The Business Strategy and Transformation Principal plays a senior leadership role in driving the design, integration, and execution of end-to-end operating model changes aligned to the commercial bank's strategic goals. Aligned to a business area, this role partners closely with business executives, transformation leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape and guide business strategy execution. The P6 Lead will navigate highly complex strategic, structural, and organizational design questions and support senior decision-making by framing trade-offs and surfacing strategic interdependencies. This leader plays a key role in unifying legacy teams and capabilities into a scalable model that accelerates growth and deepens client relationships.


Responsibilities

Business Area Strategy Support

  • Shape and align business area strategies with the enterprise operating model vision.
  • Partner with executives and the Principal, Business Strategy & Architecture, to ensure clarity of strategic objectives and design requirements.
  • Lead design of organization, sales strategy, and go-to-market models within the business area.

Org Design & Business Integration

  • Lead the definition of future-state team structures and capabilities
  • Drive alignment of legacy teams and embedded functions through operating model changes
  • Advise on organizational implications of strategy and technology platform evolution

Policy & Process Design & Execution

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and simplification
  • Support development and delivery of business policies, workflows, and operating procedures
  • Coordinate with functional partners to implement process change across impacted areas

Go-to-Market & Sales Strategy Execution

  • Translate segment and client needs into effective sales strategies and support models
  • Align GTM and relationship management changes with product, operations, and enablement partners
  • Support implementation planning for sales coverage and team changes

Business Roadmap & Decision Enablement

  • Collaborate with transformation and business leads to define and deliver integrated business roadmaps
  • Identify business requirements and interdependencies for platform decisions and scalability initiatives
  • Lead options analysis and tradeoff assessments to support enterprise decision-making
  • Own socialization and storytelling within the business area to build leadership buy-in and momentum.

Change Readiness Alignment

  • Ensure roadmap execution aligns with enterprise change management standards and frameworks.
  • Partner with transformation's change management leaders to assess organizational readiness, apply toolkits, and track adoption risks.
  • Coordinate with internal and external comms partners on timing, messaging, and enablement plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry

Preferred:

  • Experience in commercial banking or financial services preferred
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles, go-to-market models, and platform integration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional workstreams and support executive stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and structured problem-solving skills
  • Expert at building workstreams and delivery structures that ensure transformation projects are aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Expert communication and influence skills - across business, tech, and operations stakeholders

  • Comfortable navigating strategic ambiguity and translating high-level vision into actionable design.

If hired in California, Arizona, New York, or North Carolina the base pay for this position is generally between $165,000.00 and $220,800.00.Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
