Job Summary We are looking to add an Engineer to our St. Louis, MO location In this role you will use your process, materials, and equipment engineering technical expertise to design pilot plant trials and commercial plant trials. You will also provide technical expertise to commercial operations to maintain performance or restore process capability when the product or standard process is no longer stable, predictable, or in control. *Designs and conducts
pilot plant experiments as needed by the project.
*Scales up pilot plant experiments to commercial manufacturing level.
*Maintains Management of Change and Standard Operating Procedures for new products.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS SUPPORT 20%
*
Recognizes when process is not in control, and understands the steps needed to address the problem.
*
Supports identification and implementation of solutions to manufacturing issues related to technology.
*
Develops and applies knowledge of mass balances, control loop checks, control of energy, equipment check-out, process commissioning, and troubleshooting of unusual problems
CUSTOMER FOCUS AND TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP 5%
*Participates in department meetings and other functional activities. *Communicates technical ideas and concepts as well as research results with project and functional teams regularly. *Interacts and networks outside functional team and beyond the project team. *Develops understanding of how the broader R&D team is organized and works together. *Interacts as part of a team with internal customers to support the relationship. LEADERSHIP 5%
*Takes on laboratory or pilot plant safety tasks to solve potential safety and environmental problems within their immediate work area or group. *Leads pilot and bench scale activities for projects. JOB REQUIREMENTS
*B.S. or higher in chemical or mechanical engineering *Co-op or internship experience in process engineering or R&D is strongly preferred *Travel 10%-25%
