Facility Technician - Van Nuys, CA As a Facility Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Requires knowledge of applicable standards or regulations and may require specific trade certifications. Must have skills: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior working experience; In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience 8-10 years of Facilities Engineering experience 3 years in a Facilities leadership/Management role Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs (CMMS). Progressive experience in Facilities leadership Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience Nice to Have: Bachelors Degree in engineering related field HVAC as a nice to have skill Electrical experience is a nice to have Overall Summary Developing support individual contributor. Works under general supervision. Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Nature of Supervision Works under general supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided, and moderate peer review is required. Communication & Influence Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. Innovation & Complexity Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution. Organization Impact Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities. Education & Experience Requires developing job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
