Custodian

Catholic Charities Maine's St. Louis Child Development Center is currently seeking a Custodian to support the cleanliness and upkeep of our childcare facility.

Position Details

• Schedule: 15 hours per week
• Hours: After childcare program hours
• Location: Biddeford, ME

Responsibilities Include

• Performing general maintenance of the facility
• Reporting or completing minor repairs as needed
• Keeping cleaning equipment in good working order
• Removing snow from classroom doorways when necessary
• Sweeping and washing all floors
• Taking out trash and replacing liners
• Washing windows
• Vacuuming carpets and rugs

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write
• Previous work experience demonstrating ability to perform custodial duties
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Maturity, initiative, sound judgment, and dependability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in housekeeping and light maintenance
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
