Manager, Production- EC

Basic Function: Supervises employees, processes, quality, and safety in the manufacturing process. Accountability for costs, methods, quality and quantity of production, operations and personnel. Plan and lay out work, assign, instruct, direct and assist employees. Maintains discipline, morale and personnel relations and adjust primary complaints. Hires and schedules production employees. Recommends terminations, transfers, promotion, and wage adjustments.

Significant Responsibilities

Performs specific job responsibilities:

• Hire and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
• Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Reviews production schedule to assure that adequate raw materials are available. Confers with Purchasing as needed to obtain materials.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
• Plan and establish work schedules and production sequences to meet production goals.
• Manage PFL inventory, cycle counts, adjustments and variances.
• Develop, implement and prepare reports on work center efficiencies, examining how to maintain and increase levels.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Education: Bachelor's Degree or 7 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Arithmetic and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all paperwork. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required with the demonstrated ability to express oneself clearly and concisely. Working Conditions

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and must be reasonably ambulatory. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. This job requires a sighted individual (i.e., vision corrected to 20/20) for significant reading and computer usage. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. This work also requires an individual with normal hearing (i.e., hearing corrected to normal ranges). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mal parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The nature of this work and constant interactions with employees require that an individual possess significant persuasive and interactive communication skills.
