Job Description:

Position Summary:

The SBA+USDA Relationship Manager will develop and monitor the SBA and USDA commercial loan portfolio.Responsible for making SBA and USDA loans and extending credit within established lending limits.The incumbent will obtain approvals with the credit authority granted to Management and Loan Committee as well ashandle collection procedures for selecting delinquent commercial accounts.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Generate new SBA and USDA business through prospecting and outside calling on business brokers, loan brokers, real estate brokers, CPAs, attorneys and other referral sources.
  • Maintains and applies a thorough understanding of the Everwise Credit Union's credit policy, SBA and USDA eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete loan application packages.
  • Utilizes consultative sales behaviors to be a trusted advisor to Everwise Credit Union's clients and prospects resulting in strong client experience both internally and externally.
  • Partners with the Everwise Credit Union's commercial loan department and chosen external vendors to complete the loan process, including credit application, loan decision, eligibility, due diligence and closing by serving as a liaison between the customer and the Everwise Credit Union's commercial loan department and/or chosen external vendors.
  • Ensures credit quality and compliance with all SBA and USDA requirements (including but not limited to: SOP 50 10 6 - Lender and Development Company Loan Programs, and SOP 50 57 2 - Servicing and Liquidation).
  • Generates loans that maintain an acceptable level of performance.
  • Assists commercial lending team with any required servicing action.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of Everwise Credit Union's deposit and lending services and cross-sells these products and services.
  • Maintains an active role in various committees assigned.
  • Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Provides the highest level of customer service to borrowers, underwriters, processors and other internal Everwise Credit Union's team members.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities for the growth and advancement of the credit union.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial data and credit reports.
  • Basic knowledge of business and contract laws.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite and commercial financial software.
  • Must possess a high level of skill at lending, credit analysis and sales.

Minimum Requirement

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of previous commercial lending experience.
  • 2+ years of SBA or USDA experience preferred.
  • Excellent skills in commercial financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
