What you'll do Business Partnership and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Provide sound advice and drive the strategic direction, overseeing finance and accounting operations to ensure alignment with overall enterprise goals, as allowed by the Affiliated Operations Plan.
- Successfully partner with business unit leadership and advise on all finance and accounting related matters on business transactions and accounting/regulatorystandards, including but not limited to software capitalization and impairment reviews and cost accounting standard matters.
- Lead discussions and provide specific recommendations to senior management on accounting, finance, cost accounting and government contracting regulatory (as defined in the section below) matters.
Government Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other relevant regulations.
- Manage indirect rate structures (e.g., G&A, Fringe, Overhead), including negotiation and compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and other regulatory bodies.
- Lead the response to audits, including DCAA, incurred cost submissions, and government contract closeouts.
External Audits and Compliance:
- Interface with external auditors regarding the application of generally accepted accounting principles on certain transactions and matters.
- Lead and oversee compliance activities and audits, as needed (e.g., DCAA audits or review, proposal pre award audits, etc.), and communicate potential exposures to leadership.
Accounting and Financial Operations:
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure timely preparation and accuracy of financial reports (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
- Monitor and manage working capital, liquidity, and cash flow.
- Intercompany and Acquisitions:
- Support intercompany arrangements, where required, in partnership with the Blue Yonder accounting and finance personnel, as applicable.
- Support finance integrations of new acquisitions; responsibilities include alignment to Blue Yonder's finance policies and procedures as applicable, liaising with acquisition and Blue Yonder's finance team, and coordination with M&A Integration Lead.
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reporting, including variance analysis, technical position memos, executive presentations, etc., ensuring appropriate documentation of accounting positions is in place and advising senior management on complex transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Established credibility as a trusted advisor to business partners and senior leadership on complex technical and regulatory matters.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role (Director, Controller, or equivalent).
- Prior experience in a government contracting environment is required.
- Strong understanding of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA compliance.
- Experience managing indirect rate models and leading government audits
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fact-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on results and growth.
