Job Summary AVT Simulation is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planner and Buyer Specialist to support our supply chain and production planning needs. This role is responsible for planning material requirements and purchasing goods and services in support of manufacturing, engineering, and program schedules. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
  • Procure raw materials, components, tools, and services in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain and manage open purchase orders and work orders against delivery schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and program management to support project timelines.
  • Manage inventory levels and optimize stock based on demand forecasts and project needs.
  • Resolve supply chain issues including delays, backorders, and discrepancies with vendors.
  • Perform regular data audits and maintain system accuracy for materials and procurement records.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the Materials modules of Deltek Costpoint (e.g., Purchasing, Inventory, MRP, BOM).No formal education requirement. Practical experience and system proficiency are the primary qualifications
  • Strong understanding of procurement and material planning processes in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Fluency in indented Bills of Materials and sub/higher assembly relationships.
  • Proficiency in data entry, reporting, and record-keeping using ERP systems and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in the defense or simulation industry.

Equipment/Software/Tools Used
  • Computer, copier/printer/fax machine, filing cabinets, label maker and scanner.
  • Basic computer operating system (Windows); Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint). Costpoint ERP software.
