About the Role:
We are seeking a Warehouse/Plant Operator to join our team for a temporary assignment with an immediate start. In this role, you will handle compressed gas cylinders, ensure proper loading/unloading, inspect and prepare cylinders for reuse, and maintain a clean and safe workspace. This is a great opportunity for someone with warehouse, forklift, or plant experience who enjoys hands-on, physical work in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to safely load and unload compressed gas and liquid cylinders.
Inspect, sort, and palletize cylinders for refilling and handling.
Examine returned cylinders for damage and prepare them for cleaning, repair, or refilling.
Clean cylinders using wire brushes and cleaning solutions.
Replace valves, safety caps, and identification tags as needed.
Connect exhaust manifolds to cylinders to safely remove residual gases.
Weigh filled cylinders and verify accurate records.
Complete activity reports and deficiency documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (including sweeping, painting, and restocking pallet straps).
Preferred Experience:
Forklift operation experience required.
Basic knowledge of welding and handling compressed gases is a plus.
Previous customer service experience is a bonus.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required with relevant experience).
2-5 years of warehouse, plant, or industrial experience preferred.
Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs and move up to 125 lbs with material handling equipment.
Ability to read safety instructions, follow procedures, and complete simple reports.
Skills:
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic math skills for weights and measures.
Problem-solving abilities in a warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and moderate noise levels.
