Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions US, Inc. seeks a Manager of Construction to work in Houston, TX to complete the job duties below.

  • Supports safety and quality (implementation of HSE rules and permitting, promotion of safety, compliance with IMS; implementation of QA/QC standards and resolution of site NCR).

  • Ensures the quality of construction/installation works according to contract requirements, codes and Air Liquide standards; supports the procurement department and the global team in the qualification of manufacturing workshops.

  • Provides input to the team to influence the most effective execution approach. Including but not limited to Construction Execution Plans, Advance Work Packaging (AWP), Modularization, Procedures, and Technology.

  • Ensures Construction Management best practices are applied and procedures implemented across all projects leveraging global experiences and capitalization.

  • Supports the field team: assists on contractual issues arising in the field, ensures that issues such as schedule delay, potential claims, authority issues, industrial relations issues, etc., are reported to construction management and project execution teams in a timely fashion.

  • Coordinates the interfaces between disciplines at site as well as between partners and subcontractors, supports the CM for handling claims, disputes, changes and clarifications within a timely manner.

  • Works with the Director of Construction in strategic placement of CM staff for both professional development and to ensure high caliber delivery staff are assigned to key projects.

  • Ensures within and cross regions collaboration is taking place, always looks for opportunities to utilize resources from regions that can provide high value/low cost services.

  • Demonstrates an inter-discipline mindset (including but not limited to HSE, QAQC, Civil, Piping, Flat Bottom Tank, Electrical and Instrumentation), intellectual and honest profile.

  • Support the coordination of specialists or vendor representatives in right time at site to execute their job; capitalization of the construction.

  • Promoting the site services offered in North Americas: reparation/revamping, RFI site coordination, construction, and commissioning activities for other E&C centers and Air Liquide's business units (LI, CI, Airgas, ALaT, etc).

  • Mobilizing of the resources (including from overseas) for the execution of the service; supporting the secondment (visa, arrival, etc).

  • Supporting the estimate and invoicing; coordinate the reporting of each site (monthly light report).

Are you a MATCH?

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, engineering technology required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

8 years of relevant experience with direct engagement on the industrial construction sites in civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and startup.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS:

No education and 10 years of relevant experience with direct engagement on the industrial construction sites in civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and startup.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

60% domestic. The position does not require roving, relocation or telecommuting.
