This Position reports to:

Quality & Operations Excellence Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of functional testing and inspection of purchased part to ensure the meeting of company specifications and quality standards and administers rejected material in terms of inventory transactions, supplier notification, disposition, and disposal, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Conducting Inspection methods, Inspection plans, Dynamic Modification Rule, Inspection Lot Selection, Inspection work Instructions, Post Inspection Results and perform necessary transactions in an ERP business computer system. Create basic reporting for inspection results and inventory management of purchased parts held in Quality inspection.
  • Create clear defect descriptions for non-conforming parts, collection of defect evidence (pictures, drawings, specs) and submit quality notifications for company approval. Review and approve Supplier certificate-of-conformance (SCoC) reports from the supplier. Perform inspection on PPAP parts and reports.
  • In the 3PL warehouse, coordinates and assists rapid inspection events and cleaning / rework for piece parts events. Inspects, creates notifications, and notifies transportation team for incoming inspection for freight damage. Processes, monitors, and reports for 3PL warehouse damaged parts.
  • Insures and keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, calling for repairs and maintains the inspection room to 5S standards.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Associate's degree in Quality, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, and 2+ years of experience in incoming inspection and supplier quality experience OR High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience in incoming inspection and supplier quality experience.
  • Be familiar with the understanding of engineering drawings and explain their requirements correctly and basic understanding assemble/manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques, Inspection Methods, and Equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication in English with the ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Strong technical background and Microsoft office is must.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ certification for quality engineer.
  • SAP basic knowledge is added advantage.
  • Ability to create inspection records, PPAP knowledge.
  • Knowledge of electrical components, wire harnesses, sheet metal and plastic injected components.
