Overview

Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring for a Preventative Maintenance Technician.

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician is responsible for, but not limited to performing preventative maintenance services such as greasing, oil/filter changes and minor repairs on heavy equipment on jobsites and at the Corporate Equipment Center in a safe and efficient manner to ensure maximum uptime on equipment.

Responsibilities

    Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on all makes and models of heavy equipment; including oil/filter changes, component oil sampling, component flushing, and greasing as needed.
  • Completes all necessary records such as PM checklists, oil sample labels, timesheets, DOT daily logs, etc.
  • Reports any equipment operational problems, which may be detected during normal course of duties.
  • Identifies and utilizes the proper hand tools and follows all safe work practices.
  • Becomes aware of safety precautions and understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
  • Keeps PM truck clean and well maintained.
  • Maintains a high level of workplace housekeeping.
  • Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction.


Qualifications

  • Experience performing PM services on heavy equipment including, but not limited to scrapers, motor graders, loaders, excavators, and dozers is preferred.
  • Ability to operate various types of light and heavy equipment and over the road trucks for maneuvering into suitable area for servicing.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • CDL is preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate and maintain a heavy-duty PM truck.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal format.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance to urgency.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in order to PM equipment during non-working hours.
  • Ability to work shift hours that start at 1 AM or earlier.
  • Must be available to work overtime as required for position.
  • Cooperative, punctual, and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to utilize electronic devices such as a smart phone to send and receive email and communicate from job site locations to corporate office and supervision.
  • Must be able to work safely and follow all instructions related to Company policies and regulatory agencies during the performance of duties.
  • Must be self-motivated, calm under pressure, and consistently able to meet deadlines.
