Your responsibilities will include:



  • Lead an engineering org of Data Engineers, Generative-AI Engineers, and GenAI Solution Architects (7+ FTEs), cultivating a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Support product teams with technical requirements gathering and user-story definition, ensuring engineering deliverables align with clinical and regulatory expectations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating commercial and clinical priorities into actionable backlogs and communicating progress and risks.
  • Define and deliver the technical roadmap for data ingestion, feature stores, vector databases, and LLM-powered services-aligning outcomes with business OKRs and budget.
  • Oversee architecture and code reviews for RAG pipelines, fine-tuning workflows, prompt-ops, and model-governance processes to ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Embed observability, drift monitoring, and alignment guardrails throughout data and model lifecycles, targeting 99.9 percent uptime and rapid MTTR.
  • Drive MLOps and LLMOps best practices including CI/CD automation, model registries, evaluation suites, and optimize GPU and accelerator utilization and cost governance.
  • Partner with Product, Security, and Compliance to translate business needs into AI solutions and communicate risk-reward trade-offs to executive stakeholders.
  • Champion continuous learning through brown-bag sessions, conference sponsorships, and individualized career-development plans.


Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a degree in a STEM discipline is preferred.
  • 8+ years of professional, industry-based engineering experience beyond academic training.
  • 3+ years managing cross-functional AI, data, or software teams, with responsibility for performance and team development.
  • Hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stacks (Spark or Flink, Airflow, Snowflake or BigQuery, Delta Lake).
  • Deep understanding of micro-services architecture, secure API design, and regulated data-exchange patterns.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and functions.


Preferred qualifications:



  • M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering generative AI solutions, including LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, and the implementation of guardrails and evaluation frameworks.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, GCP Professional ML Engineer, or Azure AI Engineer Associate.
  • Experience in highly regulated domains such as healthcare, finance, or government cloud.
  • Experience contributing to open-source generative AI projects or authoring publications on best practices in enterprise AI.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
