Job: Advisor, Nursing Practice - Shared Clinical Services

Reports to: Director of Nursing Practice and Improvement

Reporting to the Director of Nursing Practice and Improvement, this position has the responsibility for the clinical training and compliance of their assigned nurses. This role will work closely with the Director to support nurses and drive outcomes.



Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support 15-20 Registered Nurses as their main clinical resource
  • Complete 30/60/90-day reviews for RN and LPN
  • Travel to Centers to audit, assist with skills training
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to RNs and LPNs
  • Lead Monthly Nursing meetings
  • Participate in the creation of annual clinical competency, including creating content and completing training
  • Participate in creating and completing audits
  • Collaborate with the Providers and Center Manager to identify opportunities to improve clinical performance of back-office personnel and functions. Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of state regulations for nursing, medicine, and pharmacy as it relates to scope of practice for back-office personnel.
  • Identify and provide appropriate resources to educate patients (members), staff members on clinical conditions and processes.
  • Communicate effectively in all areas of practice, including how to motivate, and engage colleagues around a common goal.
  • Ensure that clinical processes, policies, and procedures are followed. Serve as a resource for staff.



Required Skills/Abilities:




    • Strong knowledge of healthcare functions, including clinical functions, practice safety processes, reimbursement practices, and quality improvement initiatives
    • Thorough, in-depth knowledge of clinical procedures, legal rules and regulations and best practices in healthcare
    • Skilled in observation, training and evaluating clinical/patient care competencies
    • Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic
    • Continuous desire to learn and embrace new methods; ability to adapt and be resilient.
    • Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively
    • Ability to build a relationship and work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, and family members
    • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 50%





Education and Experience:



    • AA/AS degree in Nursing required; BA/BS degree in Nursing (BSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred
    • A valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of employment required
    • A minimum of 5 years', current direct nursing/medical work experience required
    • Work in a community-based clinic, public health department or specialization with the senior population preferred
    • BLS certification for healthcare providers required
    • Mentorship and team-development experience, particularly across multiple functional areas
    • Knowledge of adult learning strategies preferred
    • A problem-solving orientation and eagerness to identify process gaps and implement practical solutions in a matrixed organization
    • Proficient PC skills
    • Fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve is desirable, but not required
