Position Summary: The Lead Student Supports Coordinator will focus on the development and implementation of school-wide attendance and behavior interventions utilizing restorative and equitable practices to effectively serve youth. The position will require the supervision of Youth Advocates and monitoring their support for youth, families and the school community. The Lead Student Supports Coordinator will use data to inform their decisions in ensuring our attendance and behavior support strategies are having a positive impact on our schools. The position is in Community School Campus in the Bronx, working collaboratively with Children's Aid and the school staff.

Essential Duties:



  • Maintain a school-wide behavior and attendance tracking system
  • Monitoring data in Charles Drew Campus Service Tracker to understand the level of services and supports provided to youth
  • Work with Youth Advocates to assign interventions for youth based on data from the attendance and behavior tracking system
  • Work with Youth Advocates to develop attendance and behavior plans to support and encourage youth to attend and be present in school on a regular basis
  • Work with Children's Aid's Core Team at the Charles Drew Campus, school leadership and staff to effectively address students' needs
  • Develop appropriate outreach systems for Youth Advocates to effectively communicate with parents and guardians regarding attendance, behavior and course work
  • Build systems to support the effective collaboration of Youth Advocates, School Counselors and Parent Coordinator to connect students and families to appropriate resources
  • Actively participate and possibly co-lead in Attendance and PBIS (Positive Behavior System of Support) Teams
  • Actively participate in Grade Level Teams to understand successes and challenges with classroom instruction and support needed for student success
  • Assist in the planning and execution of student and parent events and meetings
  • Attend all appropriate meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Oversee the classroom, hallway and cafeteria support provided by Youth Advocates


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in student services required, Master's preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a school setting
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
