Moffatt & Nichol has an opening for a Structural Associate III in Baltimore, MD. 40 hrs./wk. Job duties include: Prepares design plans, specifications and estimates for a wide variety of structures such as piers, wharves, drydock caissons and retaining wall. Ensures structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment. Calculates stability, strength and rigidity and makes sure the right materials are used for each assigned project. Develops plans and specifications for small projects, including cost estimates, budgets, scheduling and documentation preparation, support and evaluation. Helps resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project. Calculates quantity estimates. Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. Has limited client contact at staff level. Requires a Bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering field, and 3 years of experience as a Structural Engineering Associate or a role/capacity engaged in structural engineering; 3 years of experience using SAP2000 or STAAD; 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint); 3 years of experience using Microstation or AutoCAD. Employer will also accept a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering field, and 1 year of experience as a Structural Engineering Associate or a role/capacity engaged in structural engineering; 1 year of experience using SAP2000 or STAAD; 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint); 1 year of experience using Microstation or AutoCAD. Telecommuting permitted one day per week. Salary is $84,510.00 to $92,000.00 per year.
