Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cyber and Network Architect Principal

in the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) which focuses on providing enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve installations and bases. This role is within the CloudOne branch; CloudOne is the Air Force evolution to standardized platforms and application support services providing secure cloud environments, engineered environments, and cyber security solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Advanced degree (MA/MS) and 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed with 5 of those years in the DoD or DoD related areas.
  • Secret Clearance required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The individual shall direct and coordinate tasks for the Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer SMEs, Cyberspace Defense Analysis Multi-Domain Cyber Security SMEs, and work with other SMEs as needed in the execution of Divisional technical execution needs.
  • The individual shall have comprehensive knowledge and be proficient in understanding policies and procedures related to Cybersecurity as defined in DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, DoDI 8510.01.
  • Help develop division scope of work alignment with actionable recommendations based on industry best practices and reference Systems Design and Architecture.
  • Act as the SME for Hybrid and multi-cloud compute and store roadmap to assist in operation of unit in both connected and disconnected states.
  • The individual shall perform work that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization.
  • The individual shall have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of principles, policies and practices of systems architecture and engineering principles as well as a knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force to provide systems engineering support, as outlined in Defense Acquisition Guidebook Chapter 3, in support of furthering system mission capabilities.
  • The individual must have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs as well as the ability to visualize and understand complex requirements and interdependencies of a wide variety of ACAT I programs and IT infrastructure.
  • The individual shall support and develop technical reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., TEMs, MARs, etc.).
  • The individual must be able to support technical program management reviews and senior level meeting/reviews.
  • The individual collaborates with a diverse group of multi-MAJCOM stakeholders, at the classified and unclassified level, to determine specific technical needs and requirements and present technical solutions to include oversight and task execution utilizing leadership, teamwork, and diplomacy and senior levels of the organization.
  • The individual shall be able to support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks, representing the voice of the Chief Engineer in his absence.

Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include:

  • Identifying opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies.
  • Developing reference models of the enterprise and maintaining the information in the IT repository.
  • Determining the gaps between the current and the target architecture and recommending plans for transitioning to target architecture.
  • Recommending the policies and principles to guide technology decisions for the enterprise architecture.
  • Coordinating and conducting governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture.
  • Work with the Identity, credentials, and access management (ICAM) team to ensure cross division and cloud usability, both in the connected and disconnected state.
  • Work to plan out and execute an executable DAF Zero Trust plan and roadmap.
  • Work to put the division on the path of modernization specifically with regard to the divisions Digital Engineering using SysML.

Additional Job responsibilities include:

  • Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field and possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise (Program Office, Enterprise, and Staff Level Support interface).
  • Possesses experience in identifying technical acquisition strategy issues and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with strategic level issues and ability to work independently as well as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities. Possesses proven leadership, team building, strategic planning, and organizational development skills.
  • Desire pertinent experience with an ACAT I, or equivalent, level program, including development of new programs with the Acquisition community.
  • Desire pertinent experience in the development of RFP documentation and support of Acquisition Strategy reviews.
  • Demonstrated experience in packaging and presenting briefings for senior level reviews. Have experience initiating and managing high visibility programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
