Summary: The Benefit Verification Specialist - Pre-Registration Specialist position, under the direction of the Pre-Registration Manager, provides professional pre-registration services for our patients, physician's community, and facility representation. This position provides high quality point of service collections, financial counseling, demographic verification, and insurance review. 1.Maintain working knowledge of patient estimate portions via estimation tool and perform outreach to patient prior to the scheduled appointment to verify patient demographics and notify the patient of their patient responsibility. (40%) 2.Provide professional, accurate, and timely Pre-Registration functions. Provide a high level of quality of customer service while maintaining effective communication with the patients, physician's community, and facility representation. (30%) 3.Secure acceptable financial arrangements, as applicable. Should acceptable arrangements not be made, effectively communicating with appropriate facility with required information needed to make an informed decision. Accurately process payments within web based application. (10%) 4.Document all account activity, including payment information, in the applicable host system timely and thoroughly. (10%) 5.Responsible to maintaining performance standards and ensures the department is operating at peak proficiency and that the established goals are consistently met. (10%) 6. Specialists can expect to make 45-50 outbound calls per day. Required Experience: 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office. Basic knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and medical terminology *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Ability to problem solve, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret benefit information and provide education to patients, as well as estimate patient responsibility based on provided information. Proficiency in using computer software, including Google or Microsoft Office Suites. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
