The RoleThe need for more sophisticated outage management tools is rapidly expanding across the utility industry. We are looking for Senior Software Developers to contribute to development of the company's industry leading Outage Management System (OMS). In this role, you will be a lead member of an Agile development team that designs and implements highly scalable and performant outage management platform with a best-in-class front end user experience. This role's contributions will make highly visible impact on software that has direct impact with thousands of daily users, as well as the millions of utility customers whose reliability of service depend on these applications.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience in implementing enterprise software development projects at scale. You will need to be able to work with multiple business stakeholders and technical leaders to identify functional needs of our products, then fulfill those needs by designing and implementing high quality software. Your Impact
  • Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best -in-class software.
  • Work with business stakeholders and technical leaders to define product needs as functional requirements.
  • Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault tolerant code based on requirements and/or user stories.
  • Be a technical leader for small teams (1-3 additional developers) on complex projects.
  • Ensure reliable code by developing unit tests and test automation tools.
  • Assist in code and design reviews.
  • Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
  • Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective.
  • Investigate, isolate, and identify solutions to reported software malfunctions.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience with object orientated programming (Java, C++, C#, Python, etc.) required.
  • 4+ years of experience with web-based programming (JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS) required.
  • Passion for building scalable and optimized software systems.
  • Test-driven development experience. Must be able to unit test code.
  • Experience with performance testing and automation tools (Roadrunner, Locust, VisualVM).
  • Extensive knowledge of interacting databases (Mongo, Oracle DB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite preferred).
  • Interaction with and implementation of RESTful Web Services preferred.
  • Expert understanding of algorithms and complex data structures.
  • Experience with user interface design and adjusting approach to user interaction and feedback is preferred.
  • Opportunities to travel may arise but are not required.

The salary range for this role is $109,600.00 - $137,000.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
