Description


Under general supervision, define the restrictions and limitations that govern all sponsorships. Define the general parameters in the sponsorship setup. Create organizational profiles in Colleague. Modify existing student sponsorships. Provide and maintain seamless exemplary customer service with external organizations. Assist the business office with billing revisions and corrections. Work is generally diversified requiring judgment, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities consistent with established practices and procedures. Supervision received is general in nature using established procedures and general objectives and limited to problems or unusual conditions. Work both independently and with staff in a work-team approach.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate and perform duties providing exemplary customer service that is responsive to customer needs.
  • Set-up, manage and maintain sponsorships (third-party billing).
  • Monitor inbox for incoming sponsorship approvals and questions from sponsors.
  • Respond to incoming inquiries and adjust sponsorships as needed.
  • Independently provide resolutions to complex student inquiries and issues by applying thorough knowledge of all Student Sponsorship functions as well as cross-functional student services including Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar, and Admissions that affect student services.
  • Assist student accounts with resolutions; provide reports to verify information and invoice items are correct and ready for billing.
  • Work in tandem with Human Resource staff with the Tuition Remission Program.
  • Responsible for tabulation of cost students incur and providing records to sponsors / student accounts upon request.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the Sponsorship, billing, payment plan, financial aid awarding processes and other student financial items impacting a student financial record.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.

Required Education: Associate's degree in business related field.

Preferred Education: Associate's degree in accounting.

Required Experience: Two years bookkeeping or accounting experience utilizing accounting principles.

Preferred Experience: Four years of more experience related activities

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the procedures used in maintaining accounts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to make, post, and verify computations with speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software specific to position, including MS Excel, MS Word and the Internet.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a reactive environment. Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, clients and business organizations through both oral and written means.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., carry, and push up to 20 lbs. and ability pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and a ladder and maintain balance.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and speak.
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: 75% of time spent sitting, 20% of time standing, and 5% of time walking.

Supplemental Information

This position supports the Scholarships Program. It is an on-site position at the Downtown campus.

Hours: This position works 38.75 hours per week hours. The work days are Monday - Friday.
