Overview

The PowerOn Reliance Senior EMS Development Engineer will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain.

The PowerOn Reliance Senior EMS Development Engineer should have experience with PowerOn Reliance (XA/21) and the associated applications.


Responsibilities

  • Perform systems administration of operating systems and other proprietary platforms to include but not limited to operating system and firmware upgrades, system optimization, configuration management, performance, uptime, and health monitoring and security patching in support of Energy Management System (EMS) platform
  • Implement technology solutions to optimize the effectiveness of the EMS platform, and help develop appropriate procedures for their implementation and operation
  • Analyze the Power Flow and State Estimator solutions and optimizes them based on customer topology and software set of parameters
  • Design, develop, & test Inter Control Center Communication Protocol (ICCP) connectivity and external integrations (ESB, OSI Soft PI, Tera Data) with EMS Platform
  • Perform necessary technical corrective actions to restore failed or failing technical services on EMS platform
  • Conduct code review, build, deployment, testing and monitoring of break/fix patches and modifications
  • Provide overall support during the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), if required by the vendor
  • Ensure that the systems database is adequately sized and configured to support all remote field devices utilizing various protocols and calculated values
  • Provide auditable documentation recording the changes on the Energy Management System platform delivered as part of support services
  • Deliver weekly report detailing Energy Management System support deliverables completed during the reporting week

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of work experience in Power system applications - Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Frequency Control, Dynamic Stability Analysis, Load Forecasting, Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
  • Highly preferred work experience in GE PowerOn Reliance with background in power system applications & concepts
  • Experience working in Linux/ Windows Operating systems & working experience with Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL DB) is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Required) or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $105,310.00 - USD $159,661.00 /Yr.
