Bearden Behavioral Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Clinician (LCSW/LPC-MSHP - Approved Supervisor) to join our team in Knoxville, TN. Optum is a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.

As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care Team, you'll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.

As a Lead Behavioral Health Clinician, you will treat a wide variety of mental health conditions that reflect the needs of our diverse patient population. You will provide patients with behavioral and mental health treatments, including individual and group therapy, medication management, and intensive outpatient programs.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Review the work of others and provides recommendations for improvement while motivating and inspiring other team members as a leader and mentor
  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, bi-polar, trauma, grief, and eating disorders
  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods
  • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications
  • Form excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (Athena) and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Must hold a current, active, and unrestricted license in the state of Tennessee as an Approved Supervisor, either as a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP) or as a board-approved Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • 2+ years of experience as state approved supervisor
  • Currently eligible to be enrolled as a provider in the Medicare program or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable) prior to starting a new position



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness



The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
